Engraving Style

'TRADITIONAL SEAL' ENGRAVING: Deep engraved in-reverse (e.g. any text would appear 'back to front'). Engraved to create wax seals in the ancient tradition.

'DEEP FOR SHOW' ENGRAVING: Deep engraved un-reversed (e.g. any text could be read correctly). Wax impression not supplied as standard.

'ELEVATED' ENGRAVING: Key areas of the design are left prominent and are subsequently highly polished. Not suitable for detailed designs. Not able to create wax impressions

Engraving Finish

New Finish The brighter visual effect of a new engraving will start to age straight away and continue over a period of weeks and months. Natural ageing produces a better, more defined appearance over time. We recommend ‘New Finish’.

Antique Finish This is an artificial finish, or patina, that gives the engraved detail contrast similar to the effect of a naturally aged engraving. Each commission is hand crafted and unique, as such this effect will vary.

Simple Shoulder Engraving

Additional Cost Per Shoulder: + ADD £95 | $135

It is possible to engrave a small area of each shoulder of your signet ring. This may include simple symbols or lettering. It may be possible to engrave more complex designs on larger rings however this is possible by quotation only.

Gemstone Setting

Additional Cost Guide Prices: Ruby | Emerald | Sapphire FROM + ADD £95 | $135 Each

Diamonds FROM + ADD £150 | $210 Each

While the above price guide represents the smaller stones available i.e. set into your engraving. Larger gems will need to be quoted for. Larger stones i.e. set on their own - As a guide cost x2. Depending on your requirments.Gemstone setting could add 2 weeks to your lead time.

Our Classic Die Stamped Rings, but forged from heavier gauge precious metal. All the quality of a die-forged ring but much weightier all the way around. As a comparison: Heavyweight Ring (left) 2.1mm min thick head | EXTRA Heavyweight (right) 2.6mm min thick head.

Extra Wax Impressions

Additional Cost Each: + ADD £10 | $14

Each supplied in its own presentation box. Additional presentation wax impressions are only available with this order.
If your ring is TRADITIONAL SEAL ENGRAVED you will receive 1 wax impression FREE of charge.
If your ring is DEEP FOR SHOW any impressions you order will APPEAR IN REVERSE.
ELEVATED ENGRAVING is NOT suitable for creating a wax seal.

Enamelling

Additional Cost: + ADD £95 | $135 for single colour

It is possible to enamel simple bold block shapes, sometimes it is possible to use more than one colour. Enamelling could add 2 weeks to your lead time.
