Sun Wukong 'The Monkey King'

This engraving is the result of a signet ring commission given to us recently to combine Sun Wukong, the Monkey King from the famous Chinese legend, and the Chinese Dragon, seen as a symbol of good luck. The challenge was to include such detailed characters in such a small area. The signet ring face itself is only 16mm in height. On first glimpse the engraving appears almost abstract, however under close study the detail of the signet ring can be discerned. The detail of the engraving work only truly becomes clear in the wax impression.
